U.S. Eagle Gold - 1 oz
The American Gold Eagle is an official gold bullion coin of the United States. Authorized under the Gold Bullion Coin Act of 1985, it was first released by the United States Mint in 1986. Each coin contains 1 oz of gold and totals 1.09 troy oz in weight. By law, the gold must come from sources in the United States, alloyed with silver and copper to produce a more wear-resistant coin. All 1 oz Gold Eagles mark a face value of $50. Although the eligibility for precious metals in an IRA/401k account states the product must contain at least 99.5% in purity, the Eagle has a special exemption in the US tax code and is eligible for IRA/401k accounts.
